Tranquil Trails Hikes

Tranquil Trails Hikes add variety and enrichment to your active dog’s routine through the exploration of different trails in the Poconos and Lehigh Valley. Our name, Tranquil Trails, comes from the feeling of peace and tranquility that we feel when we are out hiking. It is a great way to get away from the hustle and bustle of life. We are located in the southern Poconos, near the Appalachian Trail and the Delaware & Lehigh Trail (D&L), which include the Lehigh GapBake Oven Knob, the Lehigh Gorge, Glen Onoko Falls, the Switchback Trail in Jim Thorpe, and other locations. Hiking is a great way to give your active dog a change to his usual routine.

The length of the hike, the time of year, weather and trail conditions, and the level of difficulty determine the hike location. We use AllTrails to help decide when and where we will be hiking. During the summer, wading (on leash) in the Lehigh River or D&L Canal is often part of our hikes (with your permission). The length of time is the length of the walk. It doesn’t include travel time. There is no charge for transportation.

Dogs attending Tranquil Trails Hikes should be prepared to carry their own supplies in a backpack. Supplies should include water and a collapsible bowl, at a minimum. We also recommend getting in the habit of carrying a small first aid kit and some healthy treats.

This service includes a thorough tick check. However, given the sizes of ticks, we cannot guarantee that we will find them all.
